female duets

Play on Spotify What a lovely song, and I must admit I’d completely forgotten about it. I’ve always loved Karen’s take on “This Masquerade,” but when followed by Ella’s lonesome, crisp vocal, we reach some sort of new nirvana. from ‘Alibaba aur chalis chor’ (is it me or does Zeenat Aman look way better than Hema Malini here? LOVE, by Note how OPNayyarish the composition sounds. Known for his work on the musical “Working,” Craig Carnelia’s duet has been most notably recorded by Sutton Foster and Megan McGinnis.

Not a valid excuse, but I guess the general forgettableness of Parasmani makes me even forget its songs. when I was a little girl. Once I am finished with a post there, I will be back to Bimal Roy. :-), https://dustedoff.wordpress.com/2011/05/27/ten-of-my-favourite-train-songs/.

I have a broad smile on my face, why? (In this case, they’re actually half-sisters, sharing a common father but with different mothers – but that’s immaterial).

Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera, Do What U WantImagine if, instead of performing this on an episode of The Voice, Xtina and Gaga had debuted this duet as a lip sync for your life on Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Brandy and Monica, The Boy is MineAhh, Brandy and Monica. Do please do a post on Roy’s song picturisations!

This calls for a celebration: the 10 best female-female duets. :-) I watched this film quite a while back, so I don’t remember the details of it, but it did have some fairly feminist ideals in it.

Play on Spotify. ), Na main Dhan chahu (there is a sequence where Dev anand is bringing home spoils from his black marketing and trips on the stairs while the song is being sung. They’re so good that every other thought – even of the fact that the voices are male – was driven out of my head. August 7, 2018, 10:42 am, by

I love Jab jab tumhe bhulaaya – there’s something really lovely about the fact that it seems, at first sight (and if you’re not listening closely to the lyrics), the usual dance song, about love etc.

:-D, I had been thinking of posting Main natkhat ek kali, but since I’d specified that it had to be a duet, I (regretfully) shelved it. When he is not writing, Joseph can be found watching operas or Miyazaki films. Lovely songs! Such a pleasure to see her out and about. :-D… but I’ll restrict to one, to start with. Richard, all the songs are so melodious, and beautiful. Here is another from the same film – Meena in my very biased opinion looks beautiful, inspite of her changed looks. And by the way, if you’d like to have all these songs in one place, you can follow our “Female Musical Theatre Duets” Spotify playlist.

;-), Actually here is another one of a similar genre… from Sardari Begum (and only two women :-), Perhaps kernels of a post on Bai-Ji here…, Ah, nice!

I am glad you liked them. Madhulika, where is “Hansta hua noorani chehra”?

That one is a favorite of mine. A stage performance this time, Lata and Amirbai Karnataki singing for Nalni Jaywant and Kuldeep Kaur. Despite the fact that they’re not blood relatives (and Sulochana Latkar’s character is often downright dismissive of Sujata), Shashikala’s character actually treats Nutan as if she were her own sister. Pink remains one of those powerful female singers that consistently delivers and this is no exception. Here are a couple more from ‘Namak Haraam’ with Asha B. and Usha M. and two very dishy men ;-) ‘Suni re sajaria sajan bin tere’ And the second one is a 3-women deal sung by Asha B, Usha Khanna and Rekha Jayker, ‘Deep jale dekho’ and again a handsome, handsome Kaka from ‘Dil, Daulat, Duniya’. Controversial first pick since we’re obviously familiar with the original, but Dionne’s revamp of the single best Hal David/Burt Bacharach composition with salsa queen Celia Cruz is lively and addictive. Voice 1 Range: C#4–F5. Wah! I just discovered, a few days back, the ‘technical’ term for it. Long time since I’ve seen the film, so I’ve forgotten the relationships between people…. It’s a very slow tempo song but that just means you have more time to concentrate on and perfect those vocals. :-) In fact, when I saw you mention ‘female duets’, the first song that came to my mind was “Hansta hua noorani chehra”.
