romeo and juliet union chapel review

Screened under beautiful stained glass windows and set amongst the candle-lit aisles of the incredible Union Chapel, the Some Voices choir will sing before and after the film and perform live versions of the famous movie …

I thought the choir at the start was a bit tacky which was a shame given the beautiful setting. The acoustics are superb; it's no wonder musicians and singers love to play. Well worth a visit. A review of Baz Luhrumann's Romeo and Juliet ... Shakespeare gets a Hollywood make over in Baz Luhrmann's high-octane remake of Romeo and Juliet. It is still a working Chapel, though, so don't expect to be allowed to drink alcohol during the performance (strict Bar only!).

Highly, Been here a couple of times to see Martin Stephenson and, more recently, Lloyd Cole. Backyard Cinema: Romeo + Juliet | Union Chapel, Compton Terrace, N1 2UN There's a homless charity based here called Margins and they provided a lunch meze for the meeting which was delightful, a lovely and fresh tasting buffet with a Mediterranean theme.

We visited here last night to see Lisa O’Neill and although this review isn’t about her I must say she was fabulous and well worth seeing if you like Irish folk music. The queue outside half an hour before show-time was long but don't worry; there's lots of room in the auditorium, and we had our pick of viewpoints. The interior itself is typical of a chapel and very nice; kept suitably warm by many electric heaters.

Immerse yourself in Victorian London on this one-of-a-kind Jack the Ripper experience featuring RIPPER-VISION.™ Unlike other tours, your guide uses handheld projectors to accompany spine-chilling tales of the murders committed by Jack the Ripper in the 1800s. The speakers were a bit off, flat with the odd crackle. On for 15mins before.

Great acoustics, closeness to the performance are just two reasons to attend this super venu, We always enjoy coming to the Union Chapel, from the good natured queue to get the best seats to the amazing atmosphere created by the venue and the audience. But overall it was an enjoyable and atmospheric evening. So glad I did. Highly, Been here a couple of times to see Martin Stephenson and, more recently, Lloyd Cole. There was a bar, which I didn’t visit, along with a “tea station” selling brews, which, was a first at a gig for me. The choir (who introduce the film and return to sing another song at its conclusion) were good and added to the atmosphere. The choir, and conductor specifically, were absolutely amazing. Not sure the acoustics would be good for louder, electric bands but if you choose the artist wisely this is a great place to see live music.

We went to see Kerry Ellis who we have seen many times before; she has a great voice and vocal range and I thought the acoustics would be great in such a place.
